"Improvisation is an essential component of the actor's tool box. Using a highly tuned imagination to invent new thought patterns or new behaviors can release creative blocking in rehearsal and bring to life the characters you are portraying. Improvisation is not only used for the sake of bringing your physical actions to life but it also helps the actor to lift the words from the script, off of the page and into reality" (Koa)
It's also a whole heap of fun!
Impropriety are probably best known for their annual Liverpool 33.5 hour Improvathon (known as Soapathons internationally). These are entirely improvised comedy epics that run continuously for 2013 minutes (33.5 hours).
And they don't stop there. Their work includes a cornucopia of long and short form shows in any venue they can get their hands on.
Impropriety also run workshops and are one the Northwest's premier improvisation theatre companies. Through games and exercises they work with actors and writers from all backgrounds and skill-sets to encourage open minded ways of approaching rehearsals, devising and writing skills.
Learn the tools that allow you to tap into the magic that your own brain can create once it's allowed to play!
Impropriety workshop facilitators come from a range of performance, workshop and directing backgrounds and have worked with many leading theatre companies in the UK and around the world.
