Dates: September 2nd, September 9th, September 16th
Location: Online via Zoom
Time: 6.30pm-7.30pm

This is an intensive 3-week casting workshop designed to replicate a professional casting process with self-tapes, giving actors the opportunity to develop, refine, and rework a screen performance with direct feedback from casting professional Caitlin Joseph.

Across three structured stages, actors will build their understanding of how performances are received via self-tapes and learn how to make precise, effective adjustments and improve their technical set up.

Week 1: Initial Self-Tape Submission & Feedback

Actors will receive a selection of scenes to choose from 3 days before and be given a deadline of 2nd September to submit their initial self-tape via Dropbox. This first submission will reflect their instinctive choices, preparation, and approach to the material.

Caitlin will review all tapes and provide detailed written feedback within 24 hours of the submission deadline. Feedback will focus on performance choices, clarity of storytelling and how the actor is landing from a casting perspective as well as any technical adjustments that could improve the tape.

Week 2: Re-Call Tape & Development

Following the feedback from Week 1, actors will re-prepare and re-tape the same scene, applying the notes and direction provided and upload by 9th September.

This second submission allows actors to demonstrate adaptability, growth, and precision in response to professional casting feedback.

Caitlin will again provide written feedback,  highlighting progress and offering further ideas to consider if it was a recall.

Week 3: Live Online Industry Q&A

The final week concludes with an exclusive 1-hour live Zoom Q&A session with Caitlin at 6.30pm. This interactive session gives actors the opportunity to interact with Caitlin in real time and ask questions about casting, self-taping and anything regarding the industry. It also provides a chance to discuss the feedback process, ask about specific choices, and gain deeper insight into how casting professionals evaluate screen performances.

A dedicated host will facilitate the session to ensure all questions are covered and the conversation remains focused and industry-relevant. A recording will be made available for those unable to attend live or wanting to review after.

This workshop is designed for actors looking to develop their self-tapes and what casting is looking for in recall tapes. Everything takes place online and reflects current industry standards.
