Join us for an exclusive Q&A with acclaimed director Matthew Dunster, one of the UK’s leading voices in contemporary theatre.
With an outstanding career spanning more than 70 productions, Matthew has directed major hits including Hangmen, 2.22: A Ghost Story, The Pillowman, and the first-ever stage adaptation of The Hunger Games.
In this special session for Actors Guild members, Matthew will discuss his career journey, creative process, and experiences directing award-winning productions for the West End and beyond, followed by an opportunity for audience questions.

About Matthew:
Matthew Dunster is an award-winning British actor, writer, and director born in Lancashire in 1970. After graduating with First Class honours from Bretton Hall, he began his career on screen with appearances in Brookside, Coronation Street, Doctors, Silent Witness, and Casualty. He soon established himself as one of the UK’s leading theatre directors, holding Associate Director roles at both the Young Vic and Shakespeare’s Globe.
Dunster has built an impressive directing career with acclaimed productions including Dennis Kelly’s Love and Money, George Orwell’s 1984, Vivienne Franzmann’s Mogadishu, Martin McDonagh’s Hangmen and The Pillowman, as well as the hit West End thriller 2.22: A Ghost Story. His work has earned multiple Olivier Award nominations, including Best Director, and Hangmen later received five Tony Award nominations following its Broadway run. With more than 70 productions to his name, Dunster is currently directing the first-ever stage adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games at Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre.
