Join us for an engaging casting workshop with Bailey Frances from Shakyra Dowling's casting office.

This session offers actors the chance to gain first-hand insight from a casting professional working across a wide range of film, television, and commercial projects. Bailey will watch everyone perform a piece from handpicked scripts and then give tips and adjustments in real time. 

Bio:

After a 12 year career in the arts, working as a dancer and model, Bailey discovered another side of the industry and started her journey into Casting in 2018.

Bailey has worked for a number of well-known Casting Directors including Tree Petts Casting, Kate and Lou Casting and is now an Associate at Shakyra Dowling Casting CSA where she has been working for the past 8 years.

Bailey has assisted on numerous feature films & tv series including WOLF directed by Nathalie Bianchari (George Mackay & Lily Rose Depp), LAST SWIM (Narges Rashidi, Solly McLeod & Jay Lycurgo, both ‘Screen International Stars of Tomorrow’). And most recently Peter Greenaway’s LUCCA MORTIS (Dustin Hoffman & Helen Hunt).

Bailey is currently casting her second feature film DANGEROUS ROMANCE directed by Daisy Jacob’s after the success of her short film of the same title (Vivienne Gibbs & Scott Handy) which was selected for numerous festivals including Raindance and Holly Shorts. 

Bailey has also cast many Short Films including INCOMPATIBLE directed by Maxine Peake (for which she won a Best Casting Award at Tweetfest 2023), Seb Tabe’s JODIE and THERE WILL COME SOFT RAINS directed by BAFTA nominated Elham Ehsas, (which has just won ‘Best UK short’ at Raindance Festival2025).
