Join our two-session workshop series designed to help you build confidence, sharpen your screen acting skills, and reconnect with the creative process.
This series consists of two practical, in-person workshops with Gemma Hancock - an experienced workshop leader and acting coach with 25 years’ experience in casting.
Scene Work
Read through a pre-assigned scene with a partner

Improvise around those key points before returning to the text

Bio:
Gemma is a casting director with over 20 years’ experience across television, theatre, and film. Her television credits include four series of Silent Witness, the award-winning Don’t Take My Baby, Our World War, and Glasgow Girls, as well as international projects for Warner Bros and Sky Arts. She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award with Sam Stevenson for the BBC One adaptation of Emma.
Her theatre work includes productions with directors such as Sir Peter Hall, Thea Sharrock, Blanche McIntyre, Simon Godwin, and Melly Still. Most recently, Gemma worked in-house at BBC Studios Drama Productions, casting Casualty, Father Brown, Shakespeare & Hathaway, and Sister Boniface Mysteries.
Gemma now focuses on helping actors realise their full potential, drawing on her extensive casting career and experience as a workshop leader, including leading a nationwide screen acting training project for BBC Studios Drama Productions and Spotlight.
