Step into the fast-paced world of professional television and film sets in this dynamic, hands-on workshop led by award-winning director Emma Lindley. This session is designed to simulate the real-time pressures of a working set, guiding actors through the rapid progression from line run to blocking to shooting.
Participants will gain practical experience in adapting quickly to direction, responding authentically to scene partners, and making bold choices under time constraints, all while keeping the process collaborative and fun. Perfect for actors looking to sharpen their on-set instincts, build confidence, and deepen their understanding of how to deliver strong performances in a high-pressure environment.
About Emma:
Emma Lindley is an award-winning and highly experienced director and writer, known for her work on popular drama series and films in both the UK and the US.
In the UK, her directing credits include multiple episodes of Holby City (BBC1), Hope Street (BBC1), Coronation Street, Emmerdale, and the award-winning teen series My Parents Are Aliens and 24 Seven (ITV). She is skilled in both single and multi-camera directing and is equally comfortable working in studio settings or on location.
As a writer-director, Emma has created several short films that have been shown at festivals worldwide and aired on ITV and Channel 4. Notably, her child-bride drama Red River won three Best Film awards, including one at the London Short Film Festival. Her feature scripts have been funded by South West Screen, shortlisted for the Sundance Screenwriters Lab, and selected for the UK Filmonomics development programme.
In the US, Emma has directed two arts documentaries for Ovation TV, both of which received award nominations. She currently holds an O-1 visa and is represented by Stagecoach Entertainment in the US and Linda Seifert Management in the UK.
Emma is a voting member of BAFTA and Directors UK, and she also teaches as a guest lecturer in directing at the National Film and Television School (NFTS) and Met Film School.
