We are delighted to welcome back Director James Grieve to TAG!!!

We all have an idea of how to approach Medea or Henry V. But what if you’re creating a character in a never performed new play? How do you audition if you’ve only got two pages of dialogue to work from? What if your character doesn't have a name, a gender, or even assigned speech? Where do you even start?

A two-day workshop looking at the actor's vital creative role in premiering new plays from audition to press night.

No prep required, script pages will be supplied at the workshop.

James Grieve is a freelance director. He was formerly Joint Artistic Director of Paines Plough, the UK’s national theatre of new plays. He has directed new plays by some of the UK’s leading writers including Mike Bartlett, James Graham, Kae Tempest, Tom Wells, Penelope Skinner, Elinor Cook, Lucy Kirkwood, Nick Payne, Anna Jordan, Brad Birch, Marie Jones and Sam Steiner.
