A great opportunity to work with acclaimed Director Joe Hill-Gibbins in this fantastic 1-day workshop on The Shakespearean Soliloquy!!
This practical, playful and accessible workshop offers you the chance to spend a day working on a Shakespearean soliloquy of your choice. Working alongside acclaimed director of Shakespeare Joe Hill-Gibbins (MEASURE FOR MEASURE and A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, Young Vic and RICHARD II, Almeida), you will be lead through a series of approaches and exercises aimed at making you feel inspired and empowered on stage.
Joe encourages you to choose a soliloquy from Shakespeare that you’re not overly familiar with, so there’s a greater opportunity to make discoveries during the day. If possible, you should bring multiple photocopies of your speech for the whole group to look at, but if that’s not possible, a single copy for yourself will do.
Joe works nationally and internationally as a theatre and opera director. His work in London has been seen at the Young Vic, the Almeida and the National Theatre. His last UK theatre production was THE TRAGEDY OF KING RICHARD THE SECOND at the Almeida theatre, starring Simon Russell Beale.
