'NORTHERN' - that's what it says on the casting breakdown but what are they actually looking for? 'The North' is home to a huge variety of accents!  Accent Coach Elspeth Morrison will take you on an accent tour from Liverpool through Manchester, Lancashire, Yorkshire to Newcastle.

Explore the main differences between these key regional accents and come away with some tricks for staying in just the one place!     

Dialect Coach Elspeth Morrison works for the BBC, Channel 4, Sky, ITV and leading independents and regularly works with actors on a one to one basis to perfect their accents and dialects for theatre, radio as well as TV and film. She regularly guests on programmes such as Front Row and the Today programme on the BBC and Channel 5 News to add a bit of knowledge about the voice and its workings.
