We are delighted to welcome Layke Anderson of Dan Hubbard Casting to Manchester. Layke has been running sell-out workshops for us in London.

Following an introduction from Layke, the audition process, bad habits and how to iron them out, critique and vulnerability will be discussed.

Prior to the workshop Layke will send out a selection of scenes for members to prepare. These will consist of a mixture of side options from existing material but also from a screenplay Layke is involved with, that has yet to be produced.

Each actor will read their scene and then Layke will provide feedback, giving ideas and insight, before offering the opportunity to read again. A camera will be used for observation during the class.

Finally, Layke will answer any questions you may have about the industry including, but not limited to, his casting process, showreels, contacting Casting Directors and how to give yourself the best opportunity at the audition.

Layke is currently working with Dan Hubbard. He has also worked as Casting Assistant for Ros and John Hubbard, Maureen Duff, Kristina Erdely and Gail Stevens, beginning in 2013.

Recently Layke worked as SA director on the new Francis Lee film Ammonite. Outside of casting, Layke is a BIFA nominated and BAFTA-long-listed filmmaker, whose short films have collectively screened at over a hundred international film festivals and won several major awards.

Having previously worked as an actor, his filmography includes work with Danny Boyle and Richard Attenborough, as well as playing the lead role in the feature film House of Boys opposite Stephen Fry.

*THIS CLASS TAKES PLACE IN MANCHESTER*

Feedback from a recent London workshop:

"I’d just like to thank you for last nights Casting Workshop with Layke. I have to say he was absolutely fantastic. I’ve done a lot of workshops over the years and Layke was the most actor centred, encouraging and supportive Casting Director ever. Most importantly he was amazing at pulling the best possible performance out of all the actors. He gave excellent notes and made it a safe place to give your all. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I know others felt exactly the same. Layke has a lot to offer the industry and he could teach CD’s a thing or two about how to work with actors. He was a legend!"
