3 workshops / £90.00

Dates: August 16th, August 17th, August 18th
Location: Diorama Arts Studios, 201 Drummond Street, Regents Place, London, NW1 3FE
Time: 18.00 - 21.00

This unique and intensive set of three workshops looks to release your acting skills and enhance your ability to communicate more freely, appropriately, and authentically on stage and in front of the camera. It will also help you prepare for and commit to auditions with less nervous anxiety and greater delight and integrity.

The course invites you to come away from what you think you know. And, instead, to engage in a playful, re-assuring, and sometimes challenging process: thereby increasing your chances of personal and professional success.

"In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's mind there are few."

Shoshin is a Japanese word inviting a playful, intelligent, open-minded and easy attitude to learning - even when studying as an experienced and advanced practitioner. In this way greater awareness and understanding can be more easily and quickly be achieved. Jeremy suggests that by letting go of right and wrong, concerns, and pre-conceptions, and by always returning to a state of 'Beginner's Mind' dramatic advancements can be more easily and readily attained.

In this workshop Jeremy introduces the concept of SHOSHIN for Actors. The work will be non-academic, practical, philosophical, and physically engaging. This is not a text based course, but script may sometimes be used.

Over three consecutive evenings, the workshop looks to build knowledge and understanding. Perhaps redefining your definition of what it is to act and make theatre. There will also be discourse, discussion, and questions and answers.

NB: You would be expected to attend all three evenings.

Jeremy is a freelance director and theatre maker. He has devised and made many new productions for the National, the BAC, and theatres all over Europe.
