Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to the provision of services to you by The Actors’ Guild Limited, trading as The Actors’ Guild of Great Britain.

Definitions


TAG means “The Actors Guild Limited”
You means “users of our website and the services we provide”
Content means “information, services and material provided by TAG”
Members means “registered members of TAG”

Please note: The Actors Guild Limited and The Actors’ Guild of Great Britain are one and the same thing. The Actors’ Guild of Great Britain is the trading name of The Actors Guild Limited.

Rights Granted / Rights Reserved


All content found on this website remains the property of TAG, or respective copyright holders, unless otherwise stated. You agree that content found on the website or provided to you by TAG will not be copied, transmitted or distributed to any third parties unless permission has been granted in writing by TAG.

Membership


TAG reserves the right to refuse or withdraw membership.

TAG reserves the right to withdraw or not renew membership if there are questions about a members standard of behaviour or professionalism.

By applying for membership you confirm you are at least 18 years of age.

It is the individual responsibility of members to ensure that TAG have your correct contact information on file and that your account is updated as required. You agree to ensure the information you provide through your application for membership, including the information provided through your Spotlight CV, is complete and accurate.

TAG treat all the personal information we collect in relation to both membership and the services we provide in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Benefits


All benefits and discounts are monitored by TAG to ensure that they are not abused. Only the holder of valid TAG membership can receive the benefits listed on this site. If, for any reason, the service proprietor has any reason to believe you are not a valid member, it is at their discretion to offer a discount. Any reported abuse of membership discounts and benefits will result in the termination of your account.

Articles may not be copied, reproduced, published or distributed in any medium and are protected by copyright law.

Articles are written by leading industry professionals and reflect that individual’s opinions alone. TAG is not responsible for any of their views. The content provided on this site is posted as a resource to offer members support, insight, opinion and encouragement.

Workshops


TAG sends out important workshop information via email. This may include preparation information, scripts and changes to the venue or studio. Members agree to ensure the email address mail@actorsguild.co.uk is marked as a ‘safe’ address with their email provider and/or server to ensure all our emails are delivered into your inbox.

Actors must be fully paid up members to attend all workshops and seminars. If membership expires between booking a workshop and attending that workshop, the annual membership fee must be settled before this class.

Workshop leaders, or our facilitators, have the right to remove members from workshops if their behaviour is deemed by them to be detrimental to the workshop as a whole.

Members must arrive on time for all workshops. Latecomers may not be admitted.

Date Changes / Workshop Leaders


Due to the nature of booking professionals who are actively working within our industry on any number of projects at any given time, TAG reserves the right to cancel or change the date of a workshop or seminar. Members agree that whilst this should be avoided at all times, it is sometimes unavoidable. As much notice as possible will be given to those who have booked on a workshop or seminar that needs to undergo a date change or be cancelled completely. Full refunds in the form of credit to your TAG account are offered in these circumstances. No other compensation can be paid.

Payment, Cancellations & Refunds


When making payments through the TAG site you are required to accept our terms and conditions every time a payment is taken.

Members are given the choice to pay via credit or debit card using a secure payment gateway provided by PayPal.

Workshops that take place on one date only: unless stated on an individual class description credit to your Actors’ Guild account can be requested up to three working days (72 hours) before the event or workshops scheduled start. No credit can be processed after this time unless we are able to resell your place from a waiting list. We refund as TAG credit only – we do not refund onto payment cards or into bank accounts.

Workshops that take place over more than one date & special cases: If a workshop falls outside of the above cancellation policy, or has special terms,  it is indicated at the bottom of the class description. These workshops have either 7 or 14 day cancellation periods unless otherwise stated. A full list of our workshops can be found at: www.actorsguild.co.uk/workshops.

Free Events (such as Spotlight Space): members are asked to let us know as soon as possible if they need to cancel their place. There is no cancellation penalty unless a member simply fails to let us know that they are not coming. ‘No-shows’ incur an automatic £10 penalty fee on their account.

When making payments through PayPal you are also required to accepts PayPal’s terms and conditions which can be found on their website. PayPal provides a secure payment service; we accept no responsibility for any problems or losses experiences when using this service. All payment issues whilst using PayPal’s service must be addressed to PayPal.

If you are unable to make a workshop you have booked we cannot transfer bookings. You must cancel and rebook.

Force Majeure


In the event of any public or war calamity, riot or civil commotion, royal demise, fire, epidemic, act of God, strike or any other incident or supervening event outside their reasonable control TAG reserve the right to cancel or postpone a workshop or event. TAG shall not be held responsible for any such delay or cancellation or any inability to deliver. Where a workshop or event has not been completely fulfilled, TAG will use all reasonable endeavours to deliver on a different date.

Venue


TAG uses a variety of studio space for its workshops and seminars. Neither TAG or the owners of the space can be held responsible for the loss or damage to members property whilst attending a workshop or seminar.

Casting Directors Guild Guidelines


You understand that the presence of a Casting Director is absolutely not a guarantee or promise of employment. You further understand that the intent of any class is solely educational and not a form of job interview or audition. Complaint Procedure


Complaints made in writing (letter or email) should be forwarded immediately to the following addresses. The complaint will be acknowledged and will be logged as a formal complaint.

These terms and conditions are governed by English law and You and TAG submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. Your statutory rights are not affected.
