This workshop is specifically designed for actors who wish to find out what their ideal casting bracket is, and how to sell themselves by finding a niche. It allows the participants to explore core values, motivating them to be positive in the weird and wonderful world of the acting profession. It takes place over three hours and incorporates techniques and exercises that will inspire them to create a positive clear career direction. Workshop schedule 1. Who are you and what is your USP? 2. Why we do this crazy thing! 3. Where is it we want to go? Who are you and what is your USP? Obviously actors can play a variety of different roles. We can put on various guises, and can get under the skin of many characters. However many of us don't understand who we really are, and what our niche is. Having a clear understanding of this will enable us and our agent to create a defined career direction. The first part of the workshop incorporates exercises that enable each participant to understand these qualities. By the end of the exercises, each actor will have a detailed picture of themselves, understanding their unique abilities, characteristics and selling points. Why we do this crazy thing! Acting is a calling. A vocation. However sometimes it can be confusing why we do what we do. If we can value what we do, we can then be extremely motivated to make it work for us. In the second part of the workshop we explore what we value about our careers. This powerful exercise creates a template for motivating us to be positive in this very precarious world. Where is it we want to go? (Hero's journey) Sometimes we feel we should achieve a goal, rather than being compelled to achieve it. Therefore it is fundamental to create a big picture outcome that turns us on. The ultimate 100% goal. When we have this goal we can then find a strategy in order to reach it and make it possible. Members are guided through specific steps to create this ultimate outcome by using language that inspires them. They then are shown techniques to turn limiting beliefs into empowering ones, allowing clear action to be taken to get to the wanted outcome. Feedback following Jim's last Actors' Guild workshop: "Really interesting and informative workshop which gave us all strategies and techniques to nail that audition.
