Following the success of Shoshin Script, this course reveals the essential principles of Shoshin in relation to movement for actors... DATES: 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th July Weekly acting classes with Jeremy Stockwell. Shoshin Movement covers various mime, movement, and silent theatre techniques and looks to enrich and develop a greater understanding of physicality in performance. Over four three hour sessions, the classes look to build knowledge and understanding week by week - redefining your definition of what it is to act from a physical basis with or without script. In addition this unique and intensive 12 hour course looks to advance your acting skills and enhance your ability to communicate more freely, appropriately, and authentically on stage and off. It will also help you prepare for and commit to auditions and casting with less nervous anxiety and greater integrity. The course invites you to come away from what you think you know. And, instead, to engage in a playful, re-assuring, and sometimes challenging process: thereby increasing your chances of personal and professional success. SHOSHIN is a Japanese word inviting a playfully, intelligent, open-minded, and easy attitude to learning - even when studying as an experienced and advanced practitioner. In this way greater awareness and understanding can be more easily and quickly be achieved. Jeremy suggests that by letting go of right and wrong, concerns, and pre-conceptions, and by always returning to a state of 'Beginner's Mind' dramatic advancements can be more easily and readily attained. Jeremy is a freelance theatre director. He has devised and made many new productions for the National, the BAC, and theatres all over Europe. His shows, workshops, and seminars in Japan won him the title 'Philosophical Entertainer'. He has taught and directed at RADA for 20 years and is a Performance Consultant and Acting Coach for the BBC. For more information see www.jeremystockwellcoaching.com.
