The Motion Capture in film and video games is a relatively new employer of actors and yet one that many actors know little about. This workshop is aimed at those actors who are keen to learn more about this sphere of work. 

Many Films and even the TV and Games industries require the actor to create non-human, animalistic and other worldly characters. This class will give you the space to play, create, have fun and explore using games and exercises from which to inspire physical and creative choices. We shall discuss the basic principles of Motion Capture performance and which physical aspects we need to consider when creating with motion capture.

Sarah is the founder of Shapes in Motion, she works as a movement coach, movement director and tutor specialising in Film, Animation and Motion Capture Performance. Sarah has coached many actors for film, TV and live performance and is a visiting lecturer and workshop leader at numerous UK universities and educational institutions. Sarah worked as movement coach for feature films including Jupiter Ascending and Guardians of the Galaxy. She has also worked with character animators on projects such as; Harry Potter, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, John Carter, World War Z and Guardians of the Galaxy. 

Please wear comfortable clothes to move in, as is a highly physical workshop.  Please note that mocap technology will not be used in this workshop.
