VENUE: Craven Street Rehearsal Rooms, 10 Craven Street, WC2N 5PE 3 HOURS: 6PM - 9PM We are delighted to welcome casting director Gaby Kester who will be working with a small group of actors to share her huge wealth of experience and offer insight and advice. Following a talk Gaby will provide members with the opportunity to do a mock read using scripts she has recently cast and will offer feedback and advice. The workshop will conclude with an informal Q&A. Actors' Guild workshops provide an informal environment in which to learn in a positive and supportive atmosphere. Gaby Kester has been working in casting for thirteen years and set up Gaby Kester Casting in 2005. Although she works predominantly for film, Gaby has also cast several plays and is currently casting the hit comedy show 'Celebrity Autobiography' that has transferred to London from Broadway. Gaby brings years of experience to the world of casting having worked with top UK casting directors Michelle Guish and Priscilla John on such films as 'Saving Private Ryan', 'Shakespeare in Love' and 'Bridget Jones's Diary'. From 2002 until 2005 she worked solely with Michelle Guish as Associate Casting Director on such films as 'Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason', 'Nanny McPhee' and 'Five Children and It'. For 'Five Children and It' she was given the challenging but ultimately hugely rewarding task of casting all five of the five children of the title. Since setting up on her own, Gaby's first job was casting the three teenage leads for the late Anthony Minghella in 'Breaking and Entering'. Other films include 'The Oxford Murders' with John Hurt and Elijah Wood, 'Flashbacks of a Fool' with Daniel Craig and 'Re-uniting the Rubins' with Timothy Spall. Theatre work includes plays for the Royal Court and the Tricycle Theatre. Gaby's latest film 'Hysteria' starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, Hugh Dancy, Jonathan Pryce and Rupert Everett will be released in the cinema this autumn. PLEASE NOTE: Your Spotlight CV will be sent to Gaby a few days before the workshop, please make sure it is up-to-date. You will receive a class information sheet prior to the workshop which will contain full directions.
