VENUE: Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, 235 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8EP. 3 HOURS: 18.00 - 21.00 CASTING FOR COMEDY Having worked as a Casting Director for BBC Comedy for more than 10 years, Jo offers an insight into the casting process and will guide you around the world of TV Comedy. Jo will advise on appropriate ways to access industry members and what she looks for in a performer. You'll discuss the different styles of comedy and look at how to approach a read and what to expect from an audition. Then, having seen your spotlight profiles, Jo will put you into pairs and give you a scene from a TV script to look at. After a short preparation you will perform your scene to the group. Jo will provide feedback and direction before you perform a second time. Should any members have difficulties in reading without longer preparation time then arrangements can easily be made. The session will end with a Q & A.
