David is an award-winning stage director and Associate Director of Southwark Playhouse. His most recent production, TONIGHT WITH DONNY STIXX by Philip Ridley ran for the duration of the Edinburgh Fringe at the Pleasance Theatre and won the Stage Solo award for best male performance.

Earlier in the year he directed Philip Ridley’s new play RADIANT VERMIN, enjoyed a sell-out run at the Soho Theatre; The Stage described it as 'masterfully directed'. Prior to that he directed Alice Birch’s LITTLE LIGHT at the Orange Tree Theatre.

This workshop focuses on performing monologues, either in one person plays or as part of a larger piece.

You will get a chance to perform and work with David on this unique skill - who will provide expert analysis and feedback throughout the day... you will leave with greater confidence to embrace one of the hardest stage crafts - performing to an audience alone.

David has successfully staged new work from writers including Critics Circle Award winner Barney Norris, multi-award winner Timberlake Wertenbaker and Harold Pinter Playwrights Award winner Anders Lustgarten. He picked up a Fringe First award for Dark Vanilla Jungle 2013, and was nominated for Off West End awards for Best Director in both 2011 and 2014. In 2011 he was also nominated for the Evening Standard Outstanding Newcomer Award 2011.
