A new course in 2020 - Equestrian expert and actor Karl Ude-Martinez in collaboration with UpperCut Fight Company are offering a unique horse riding and stage combat training in one intensive course! Each day your time will be split between Intensive horse riding and combat fight training.

Karl runs The Knights of Middle of England who specialise in providing a range of services such as horses and riders for the TV/Film Industry. The course will take place at their equestrian centre the Warwick International School of Riding in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside and just 5 minutes from the famous Warwick Castle.

Suitable for all levels of rider - for those with no previous experience learn the basics of horse riding including, walking, trotting and cantering, try cavalry work, riding in arenas and open spaces. For those with previous experience try your hand at mounted combat and skill at arms training to go hand in hand with your ground combat training.

All levels of combat experience are also welcome - focusing on a single weapon system that compliments the mounted combat or sword and shield. Over the 3 days, gain valuable training and experience in fighting for live performance, mastering choreography, movement, techniques, all culminating in a short performance with skills and disarms in a series of final choreographed scenes. 

Following one of our workshops at The Actors Guild with Casting Director Dan Hubbard he told us: "If we invite actors in for an audition that requires horse riding we will send you to be tested first - if you list a skill like horse-riding make sure you can actually do it - keeping your skills sharp and learning new ones is all part of being a professional actor." 

With so many TV and film productions requiring actors to ride, horse riding is a key skill for an actor to possess and being confident and competent on a horse will increase your casting potential.

The centre boasts excellent facilities - 3 all-weather sand arenas, one mile sand gallop, cross country course and plenty of beautiful woodland and fields to ride through - the perfect setting for horse-riding.

Included:

- 3 Days Tuition - Approximately 4 hours tuiton per day (2 hours riding tuition and 2 hours stage combat).

- Use of all facilities, lunch is provided.

- Starting Monday morning at 09.30am and finishing Wednesday late afternoon at the end of the 3 days of activities.

- There is plenty of car park space and regular trains run from London Marylebone direct to Warwick Station.

Accommodation and meals (apart from lunch) are your own responsibility. Once you have booked your place you can contact us for a list of suggested accommodation.

The price is £450 for the 3 days, £50 deposit due to secure place at the time of booking, and then the final amount payable (direct to The Knights of Middle of England) one calendar month before course start date.

Please note this course is sold through TAG but run in full by Karl and his team.
