Location: Merseyside Academy of Drama, Hope Street Theatre Rehearsal Studios, 22 Hope
Time: 18.00-21.00
Award-winning TV director, Sean Glynn, currently working on Hollyoaks, returns with this unique workshop.
This workshop focuses on delivering emotional performances for the camera, not just once but multiple times, as is often required on soaps. This is an on-camera workshop and you will work as if on-set: there will be a cameraman filming with Sean directing.
The stark environment of a busy working set/location and the potential lack of intimacy are often challenging obstacles for an actor/actress, so we’ll be working on how to tap into keeping focussed and ensuring you deliver the best performance for the screen. Prepare to dig deep and access your vulnerability. Scenes will be sent out in advance to prep.
Footage wil be reviewed in class and you will receive the class footage afterwards. There will be practical feedback and support, followed by a Q&A with Sean.
Feedback from previous participants:
"It’s the best practical and interactive workshop I’ve ever been to. No time wasting and lengthy Q A, just getting into the script immediately. Instant feedback from the group and from Sean. Uses a camera man with real time play back. Runs the workshop as if you’re on his set, giving you an authentic experience." Gemma Ryan
"Sean Glynn is one of those very 'down to earth' directors. You could literally fire any question at him. From the moment you step into the room he makes you feel at ease. I have full respect for his passion and dedication. He has worked so hard to develop his knowledge and experience and as a director he uses this to get the best out of his actors." Joanne Sartorius
