Stage Presence &Line Learning: the brain behind it
Led by Rod Dixon, Artistic Director, Red Ladder Theatre
Date: September 5th
Location: MANCHESTER - venue TBC
Time: 10:00-18:00
We are thrilled to welcome Rod Dixon, Artistic Director of Red Ladder Theatre to TAG for a day-long practical workshop looking at a bold new approach to line-learning and stage presence.
What is the closest an actor can achieve to real presence onstage? Using a neutral mask and a series of exercises Rod Dixon explores the neuroscience of being present onstage. The workshop then goes on to introduce The Whelan Technique of embodied text - learning lines through the emotional response rather than the traditional psychological intellectual method.
This is a practical session. You will be supplied with text to work on.
