A practical workshop to offer guidance in approaching new or contemporary texts, led by one of the UK's most experienced and respected Casting Directors.
Ginny's casting on modern drama includes premieres of American and European plays (including recently THE FATHER and THE MOTHER by Florian Zeller, THE MENTOR by Daniel Kehlmann, IN THE NEXT ROOM by Sarah Ruhl, INTIMATE APPAREL by Lynn Nottage, THE OPEN HOUSE by Will Eno and THE BIG MEAL by Dan le Franc) as well as work from British writers such as Alexi Kaye Campbell, Rona Munro, Richard Bean, Simon Reade, Joe Penhall, Lizzie Nunnery and Laura Wade.
Scenes will be allocated the day before the workshop, based on your Spotlight CV, and the whole play will be emailed - please ensure you have time to read it in advance!
Feedback about how to improve your preparation or audition technique will be offered and there will be discussion of general dos and don'ts for auditions.
Everyone will have the chance to participate and, time allowing, there will be an open Q&A at the end.
