In this brand new 5 day workshop you will work in a group of no more than 16 actors with top UK Director Simon Godwin on The Tragic Arc...

Emotional openness will be explored and ways that technique can help release tragic intensity.

A brilliant opportunity to scale the heights, this will be a week of exhilarating experience and discovery.

How do we embrace the unspeakable? How do we dramatise the most extreme emotions? How can grief become art?

After a year of directing Shakespearean tragedy (Hamlet and Timon of Athens for the RSC and Antony and Cleopatra for the NT), in this week Simon Godwin will explore emotion on a grand scale.

Using texts from all three plays, Simon will reveal how Shakespeare structures suffering through language and turns pain into poetry.
