The Actors’ Guild of Great Britain
the actor at the very centre

TAG is the largest membership organisation offering on-going professional development for actors in the UK and the only one that offers an ever evolving collection of workshops & services that is genuinely actor led. From the artistic vision and team of staff, right the way through to the programme of workshops, created by you, the members.

When it comes to on-going professional development we swing the pendulum of power firmly back to the actor and bring our often disparate, nomadic profession together – recognising the voice we are as a collective.

Our greatest strength is the number of uniquely skilled professionals who make up our membership and with that comes an abundance of diversity and opportunity.

Story

Driven by the community it serves TAG is an independent not-for-profit organisation. Actor built and Actor led.

TAG was founded by a community of professional actors who believed there was a better way to do things. They wanted an organisation that brought together key industry professionals, strict joining criteria and a low membership fee – a centre for professionals.

The fact that you are responding to the needs of us, the actors, is what makes TAG such a unique and effective provider. Clare Cameron, Actress

Rather like an actor is, we too are nomadic. We are not a building, our community uses a variety of spaces around the UK.

This means we are not limited by space and it gives us the freedom to offer the workshops and courses that you request. You could be learning to gallop in Warwickshire one day and on stage, working in the round, the next.

We run a hub at Spotlight throughout the week, offering a focus for our London operation in the heart of the West End – in a building at the very centre of the UK casting scene, as well as other spaces around the South East and North West.

An essential resource for our profession. Timothy West CBE, Actor
