Che Walker is one of the UK's most exciting and inspirational playwrights and directors. One of his most recent plays, The Lightning Child, played at The Globe this year.
What is your relationship to words as an actor and how do you respond to them physically?
A workshop that encourages a physically instinctive response to language and to each other.
Che's first play, Been So Long, premiered at the Royal Court Theatre and was runner-up for both the Meyer-Whitworth and the John Whitting Award before being translated and performed in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, New Zealand and Australia. His play, Flesh Wound, premiered at the Royal Court and won the George Devine Award for Most Promising Playwright. The Frontline premiered at Shakespeare's Globe and Klook's Last Standin at The Park Theatre.
Che's extensive directing credits include Little Baby Jesus (English Touring Theatre), Lovesong and Been So Long (nominated for Best Musical in the Evening Standard Theatre Awards), Car Thieves (National Theatre), His Greatness and Fog (both at The Finborough) and In Walks Ed (Old Vic).
Che has appeared in Eastenders, Holby City, The Office, Judge John Deed, Edward Bond's Tuesday, The Vice, Casualty, Between The Lines, Rules of Engagement, Killing Timet, The Ruth Rendell Mysteries, Beyond Bedlam and Lipstick on your Collar amongst many others. Theatre includes Shakespeare's Globe, The Bush Theatre, Salisbury Playhouse and Glasgow Citizens Theatre.
