GOLDCREST STUDIOS – the première post production facility in London (Skyfall, Les Misérables, Prometheus, The Borgias) – offer you the chance to learn a set of new skills in a professional environment with experienced teaching staff...
Dubbing Director Jay Benedict and ADR Casting Director Phoebe Scholfield work with and hire hundreds of actors a year for ADR work and bring together a fantastic team of professionals to work with members interested in breaking into this field of work. They are currently working with Danny Boyle on Babylon...
In the world of tv and film post production, ADR is used to create the vocal soundtrack.
Equity minimum rates for this niche market range from £229-£396.50 per 4-hour session.
This masterclass runs over a whole weekend. Over the two days you will acquire the following techniques:
a) You will film a short duologue for use back in the studio, where you will learn how to record your own ADR - you even get a copy for demo purposes!
b) How to post sync others' performances.
c) Foreign language dubbing.
d) Spotting sync to revoice featured supporting artistes.
e) Working as part of a crowd ambience team.
f) Practical ADR experience at the mic.
g) Technical recording terms.
h) The kind of research required and how you would use it.
i) Specialist improvisation techniques used in ADR.
This course will run across two of our professional ADR studios in Soho with a maximum 18 students per course, so your tuition will be in groups of 6 and 12, with the whole group of 18 joining forces for the final afternoon to create a massed crowd battle/panic scene.
Refreshments and buffet lunch are included in the price, during which time, all teachers will be available to answer any queries you may have about breaking into this sphere of work.

"Full of tips, advice and knowledge. Just perfect."
"It was a really great workshop. Invaluable. I don't know why this isn't taught at drama schools... I had found the ADR process so pressured and difficult. I now feel very confident that that won't happen again."
"It was a privilege to gain an insight into the post production film world from a collection of such professional and talented people. As a professional actor taking the course I can highly recommend it, even if you decide that ADR is not for you, the course training will make you a better actor."
"Thank you so much for such a full and motivating ADR course. I will be recommending your course to fellow actors wanting to explore this medium."
