Sold Out Join Waiting List
2 days / £108.00

Dates: July 27th, July 28th
Location: Jerwood Space, 171 Union Street, Bankside, London, SE1 0LN
Time: 10.30 - 17.30

Spread over two days, this workshop is led by the world renowned and award winning theatre company, Complicite.

Members will explore a range of Lecoq's physical techniques, with a particular focus on the neutral mask, which is fundamental to Lecoq's teaching method. Participants will use the mask to develop a heightened sense of discovery, and to achieve greater physical awareness, balance and detail. The workshop will explore physical environments, as well as taking on different rhythms and qualities of movement found in nature, including elements, colours, materials and animals. This will lead to exploring play, characters in situations, chorus and storytelling.

Founded in 1983 by Simon McBurney, Annabel Arden, and Marcello Magni, Complicite is a constantly evolving ensemble of performers and collaborators.

Always changing and moving forward to incorporate new stimuli, the principles of the work have remained close to the original impulses: seeking what is most alive, integrating text, music, image and action to create surprising, disruptive theatre.

Major Productions include: A Dog's Heart, Endgame, Shun-kin, A Disappearing Number, Measure for Measure, The Elephant Vanishes, The Noise of Time, Mnemonic and The Street of Crocodiles.

Complicite Assocoate Eric Mallett trained at Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris. His work for Complicite includes A Dog's Heart, The Street of Crocodiles, Mnemonic, The Visit, The Phantom Violin and The Lamentations of Thel.
