Daniel offers a unique insight into our industry having worked with many of our top casting professionals and is currently working with Kate Rhodes James. He is also a casting director in his own right and has two feature films released later this year. This workshop offers the opportunity to discuss with Daniel his take on the casting process, to read for him and, having received honest feedback, have another go this time on camera. IN MORE DETAIL: Participants will be sent out a selection of scenes from film and television projects Daniel has cast a couple of days before the workshop. After a brief introduction chat from Daniel each actor will have the opportunity to read the scene they have chosen and receive a constructive critique. This part of the workshop often throws up more general points about the casting process which everyone in the group can take advantage of. Actors will then have the opportunity to have another go, this time on camera. The workshop will conclude with a very honest Q&A session where actors can ask Daniel anything they want about the industry and casting process as a whole. Class footage will be uploaded onto a password protected site and the link sent to all participants. BIOGRAPHY: Daniel was an actor for over 25 years before moving into casting in 2005. Since then he has worked in both an Assistant or Associate capacity for Marilyn Johnson, Sue Jones, Amanda Tabak, Jayne Collins, Natasha Greenberg, Suzanne Smith and Gary Davy. At The Bill he worked for Angela Grosvenor, Anji Caroll, Laura Scott, Simone Reynolds, Urvashi Chand, Victor Jenkins and Lisa Harris. He has worked on television dramas and serials inc A Very British Sex Scandal, Last Flight to Kuwait, MI High, Dustbin Baby , Clone, Caught in a Trap, Paradise Cafe, Strikeback for sky, Missing for ABC and a huge amount of commercials. Feature films include, She A Chinese, Congregation of Ghosts, Rekill, The Task, The Three Mustketeers, Horrid Henry (Kids casting) and Lost Christmas. As a Casting Director, he cast shorts Deafblind (Maxine Peake), Man in Fear (Luke Treadaway & Tim Healy), One Last Drink & Colin Brumby. Robbery on The Champs Elysees , Chemistry (Al Weaver, Tom Riley & Lily James) and the Feature films Walking With The Enemy (Jonas Armstrong) & Hollow. He works continuously with Fractured Films, casting their corporates, shorts and Internet dramas. He cast feature films; 'Passengers' (starring Anna Popplewell) for Ratio:Film and 'The Forgotten' (Starring Shain Dingwall & Lyndsey Marshall) for Stickyback Pictures, both released in the Autumn. He is currently Associate to Kate Rhodes James and working on all of her Television dramas since Jan 2012 - including Mr Selfridge (ITV) and Ripper Street (BBC), Making of a Lady (ITV) & The Fear (Ch 4). He is currently working on Mr Selfridge 2, Ripper Street 2, Lin of Duty 2, Sherlock 3 and The Tunnel (remake of the Swedish/Danish TV series The Bridge).
