A 5 day residential course for all levels of experience including complete beginners.

Horse riding has always been a key skill for an actor to possess and being confident and competent on a horse will increase your casting potential. However, these days it is not enough to just say you can ride, casting directors have introduced horse riding auditions and will expect you to prove it.

Following one of our workshops recently with Casting Director Dan Hubbard when he told us: "If we invite actors in for an audition that requires horse riding we will send you to be tested first - if you list a skill like horse-riding make sure you can actually do it - keeping your skills sharp and learning new ones is all part of being a professional actor."

So we have teamed up with our friends at Skills4Actors who offer a 5 day residential course held up in Warwickshire and taught by equestrian expert and actor Karl Ude-Martinez.

Participants will be taught how to ride and jump and how to care for the horse all within a package that also provides them with a mock audition and hitting their marks with their horse. At the end of the week they will be filmed doing a short scenario for showreel purposes.

The week culminates with an informal and fun award ceremony. Participants will be awarded with certificates stating their level for CV purposes.

The riding school, set in the heart of Shakespeare Country is next to Warwick Castle and 10 mins from Stratford Upon Avon. The school provides a wide selection of horses and caters for all levels.

Facilities include over sixty acres of open ground and woodland to ride in, offering a variety of interest for beginners and experienced riders alike. There is an all weather sand
menage, jumping area and a cross-country course.

Workshop Content:

• 5 days of horse riding

• 3-4 hours of riding a day (plus stable management tuition)

• Use of facilities

• Accommodation (4 nights)

• Breakfasts (4 days)

• Lunches (5 days)

• Dinners (4 days)

• 2 special evening activities (Archery and Sword Fighting)

• Pick up from Warwick station to the Riding School on Monday

• Drop off to Warwick station from the Riding School on Friday

NOT INCLUDED IN PRICE:

• Transport to and from your place of residence to Warwick Station (via
  train, plane or car)

• Filming fee for footage of you riding for your showreel (which is
  optional) at an extra cost of 50GBP.

• This includes: a 2 shot setup (a master shot and a close up) the footage filmed will be compiled and put as a file on to a DVD.
