A fantastic opportunity to workshop with Charlotte Bevan, Casting Director and Creative Associate at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre:
www.shakespearesglobe.com.
This practical workshop will start with a brief introduction about the job of casting at The Globe, there will be an opportunity to ask questions as well as get up on your feet and work on text in a supportive environment.
Actors are asked to prepare 10-15 lines of Shakespeare in advance - as long as the text is age and gender appropriate participants have free rein over what piece they choose. Ideally actors should be off book. Charlotte will provide honest feedback, offering ideas and insight, before offering the opportunity to read again.
Charlotte is the Casting Director at Shakespeare's Globe, where she has worked on 44 productions since 2008. Other projects include Frankenstein, Twelfth Night, Greenland (National Theatre), The Two Gentlemen of Verona, The Talented Mr Ripley (Royal Theatre, Northampton), Dusk Rings a Bell (Hightide), Palace of the End (Arcola), Telling Tales (The Print Room).
Please note: The presence of a casting director is absolutely not a guarantee or promise of employment or representation. The intent of this workshop is solely educational and not a form of job interview or audition.
