Hayley currently works in the BBC in House Casting Department where she has worked on Casualty, Father Brown, Shakespeare and Hathaway, Doctors and on the shorts for The Break II. However her background is in theatre where she has worked with companies including the RSC, BBC, West Yorkshire Playhouse, HighTide Festival Theatre, Nabakov and ETT.

Casting credits include: Chicken for Paines Plough and Eastern Angles as well as working as Siobhan Bracke's Associate on Brave New World and Gaslight for The Royal and Derngate.

Previous to that she had Uncle Vanya with John Hannah in the title role at St James' Theatre and Nick Payne's critically acclaimed Incognito (Bush Theatre). She has worked with Siobhan Bracke on Shakespeare in Love(original cast and recast) and Hannah Miller on Twelfth Night for ETT as well as work with several other casting directors.

Although Hayley casts for TV too, this session will revolve around audition technique specifically for theatre - although Hayley is happy to cover any questions you have on TV castings as well!

Participants will have the opportunity to read / select scenes before the workshop.  The focus will be on enabling the actor to get the best out of their time in the room. An informal and supportive environment in which actors can make choices and be guided on how to make those choices memorable.  The 'audition' is not just about getting the job but about creating a character that is compelling, interesting and honest. If you make honest and good choices you will be remembered for them even if you don't get the role. This is your time with the director and your time to audition for the next audition.

The key is to present yourself, do what you do and then walk away.

The floor will be open to questions about theatre and TV castings afterwards.

Hayley's other theatre credits include: Girls Guide (Hightide), Stuart: A Life Backwards (Watford Palace Theatre/Sheffield Crucible); Neighbors (HighTide/Nuffield Southampton); Mudlarks (Bush Theatre/HighTide); The Tempest Suitcase Shakespeare (RSC); Pitcairn Development (Out of Joint/RSC); The Only True History of Lizzie Finn (Southwark Playhouse); Firewatchers (Old Red Lion); Amphibians (The Bridewell) A Midsummer Night's Dream (Riverside Studios).  As Casting Director for the Finborough productions include; Facts, the award winning Accolade (transfered to St James Theatre in November 2015) FoxFinder, Don Juan, Crush, Rigor Mortis, Fanta Orange, Drama at Inish, Me and Juliet, Miss Lilly Gets Boned, The Northerners and numerous Vibrant seasons.
