Date: May 10th
Location: Actors' Guild Hub at Spotlight, 7 Leicester Place, London, WC2H 7RJ
Time: 18.00 - 21.00
A workshop led by one of the UK's most experienced and respected Casting Directors to help actors to prepare for a Shakespeare audition, including some guidance on verse speaking and how it can be used to illuminate meaning and simplify delivery; how to break a scene or speech down in order legitimately to show as much range as possible; how to choose audition speeches/scenes and cast oneself well.
There will be some discussion of general dos and don'ts for auditions as well as a Q&A at the end of the session.
Actors will be allocated scenes to prepare a day or so before the class, and should read the whole play.
Everyone will have a chance to participate and observe.
