Time: 18.00 - 21.00

Carl is a freelance Casting Director and currently casting two films, YOU CAN’T HURRY LOVE and THE MISUNDERSTOOD, with a number of others at earlier stages. Commercials and TV projects are ongoing.

This three hour workshop will start with a brief intro covering Carl's professional background and how he likes to work with actors in a casting scenario.

Carl will be sent your Spotlight CV before the workshop so that he can cast participants appropriately - sides will be provided on the day. Each pairing will be given time to prepare, during which you can ask Carl any questions you may have about character and plot.

All will be scenes from film or TV projects that Carl has cast. Direction will be given before running through the scene again. Constructive feedback is given.

There will be a Q&A covering topics such as film and TV casting, approaching film and TV casting directors, preparing for a film or TV audition, self-taping, America, headshots, (Carl can give feedback on your current headshot as well as talk about what he thinks makes a good headshot generally), Spotlight, CV's, letters, agents, etc.

Carl cast 80 British actors in a ten part dramatisation THE BIBLE which was a huge success on American TV and has already became the biggest selling TV series on DVD in the last 5 years and the biggest miniseries of all time on Blu-ray, Digital HD and DVD in its first week of release.
