We are delighted to welcome Casting Director Beatrice Ray (Associate Casting Director at Jane Ripley Casting) who will share her wealth of experience from casting shows for BBC Comedy, E4 and Netflix...

The workshop will start with a brief intro covering Beatrice's professional background and the way they go about casting, before moving into the practical part of the workshop.

Beatrice will provide members with the opportunity to do a mock read using scripts she has cast and will offer feedback and advice. She will look at your Spotlight CV prior to the workshop and provide appropriate sides on the night. Preparation time will be given.

There will also be opportunity for participants to ask an specific questions they may have.

Beatrice joined Jane Ripley casting in 2012. She has co-cast numerous productions for BBC Comedy including Crims, Our Ex-wife, Coopers V. The Rest, This Country of Ours and Limbo. She also worked with Jane on the BAFTA nominated and RTS award winning My Mad Fat Diary and, most recently E4’s hit series Chewing Gum.

Recent projects include Loaded for Channel 4 and AMC,  Kiss Me First - a major new drama series for E4/Netflix and Clique - an 8 part drama series for the BBC. Stath for Roughcut and E4, Pure - a new drama series for Drama Republic and C4 and as a Casting Director; the award winning CBBC series So Awkward.
