Sold Out Join Waiting List
£31.00

Date: November 14th
Location: Actors' Guild Hub at Spotlight, 7 Leicester Place, London, WC2H 7RJ
Time: 18.00 - 21.00

We are delighted to welcome TV director, Rebecca Gatward who will share her wealth of experience in this practical workshop.

The workshop will start with an introduction from Rebecca about her process of casting and the expectations on them when entering a casting situation...

There will then be an opportunity to get up on your feet and work practically. Rebecca asks participants to prepare a contemporary scene where the focus is on your character.  A TV script is preferable but if the piece is originally from a stage script then it should be suitable so that it can be presented ‘as if’ for camera. Rebecca will offer feedback and direction. Please be ‘OFF BOOK’ and bring 2 copies of your chosen scene.

The workshop will finish with a Q&A covering points raised from the workshop itself as well as the world of directing/casting as a whole.

Rebecca has just picture locked the final three episodes of Shetland 4 for BBC. Previous theatre includes: Silver Lining by Sandi Toksvig for ETT, The Nightwatch Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre, Maxine Peake’s Beryl and The Accrington Pals for West Yorkshire Playhouse; The Merry Wives of Windsor for Grosvenor Park at Chester Performs; A Comedy of Errors and The Merchant of Venice for Shakespeare’s Globe; Pandas for The Traverse; Touched for Salisbury Playhouse; The Indian Boy, The Canterbury Tales and Thyestes for the Royal Shakespeare Company; The Magic Toy Shop for Shared Experience; The Three Birds and Venecia for the Gate Theatre. TV work includes: Grantchester, Eastenders, Casualty, Doctors for the BBC and Danni’s Castle and Sadie J for CBBC.
