Do you want to know how to self-tape effectively? Or do the words self-tape send you running?!

Self-taping for auditions is on the increase. Knowing how to submit a self-tape that is as effective as being in the room is a valuable tool for all actors but especially for those outside of London. This practical class with Janet Hampson is an opportunity to ensure that self-taping is as comfortable and familiar to you as going for an audition. You will cover the basics that can affect the quality of your footage and then practice a self-tape in class before watching back the results with your classmates. Janet will share her do’s and dont’s and the best way to self-tape using just your smartphone

You will be sent a script a couple of days in advance. In class you will have the chance to do your own self-tape with your smartphone. You will then submit it to Janet during the session and tapes will be watched back in class in order to give feedback and tips.  You must bring your own (fully charged!) smartphone with camera.

Janet casts award-winning comedy and drama and is a member of the Casting Directors Guild. She is currently casting a new drama for UFA Fiction (makers of Deutschland 83) and recently cast new CBBC show Dysfunctional.  Other credits include 240 episodes of Coronation Street for ITV,  4 series of Citizen Khan (BBC1) and 2 series of Hebburn (BBC2).
