A fantastic opportunity to workshop with Matilda James, freelance Casting Director and former Head of Casting at Shakespeare's Globe.

This practical workshop will be primarily an opportunity for you to get up on your feet and work on Shakespearean texts in a supportive and open environment, and a chance to ask questions about working in both the Globe and the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.

Actors are asked to prepare 10-15 lines of Shakespeare in advance: as long as the text is age and gender appropriate, participants have free rein over what piece they choose. Ideally actors should be off book.

Matilda will provide honest feedback, offering ideas and insight, with the opportunity to read again.

As well as being a freelance Casting Director Matilda is also Casting and Creative Producer for Open Palm Films. Prior to being Head of Casting at the Globe Matilda worked for the BBC.
