Self-taping is becoming an increasingly important part of actors' lives. There are many plus points to it, but also plenty of misconceptions, fears and challenges.

This workshop aims to simplify and demystify the self-taping process – with top tips from a busy Casting Director. You will leave with more clarity and confidence with this relatively new way of casting.

There will be a practical element, so please bring a tablet or smartphone if you have one.

There will also be plenty of time to discuss self-taping for theatre, which in this particular casting director's experience is increasingly popular and has its own distinct set of 'best practices'.

Your Spotlight CV will be sent to Sarah before the class, please make sure it is up-to-date.

Sarah's TV work includes over 10 years working for the entertainment department of the BBC and extensive freelance work, particularly in TV comedy on many well known comedy series.

Sarah is also Alan Ayckbourn's casting director, casting all world premieres of his plays at the Stephen Joseph Theatre Scarborough, in the West End, at the National Theatre and in America, as well as casting many other productions at the Stephen Joseph Theatre.

Sarah is a member of the Casting Directors’ Guild.
