Sold Out Join Waiting List
3 hours / £31.00

Date: April 5th
Location: Actors' Guild Hub at Spotlight, 7 Leicester Place, London, WC2H 7RJ
Time: 18.00 - 21.00

Vicky is freelance Casting Director and has recently cast at the National, Royal Exchange and the Nuffield.

The session will begin with a very brief introduction by Vicky, before moving straight into the practical section of the workshop. Vicky will be sent your Spotlight CV before the session and will select and send out text from a play she has previously cast for you to prepare (you don’t have to be off-book, just be familiar and comfortable with the material). You may be sent a monologue or duologue, and from a contemporary or classical piece. Please book online as usual and then email us to let us know if you would like Vicky to give you a contemporary (which doesn't necessarily mean a new play) or classical piece (probably Shakespeare).

Vicky will then give feedback or specific notes to try, and you will have the opportunity to read again. At the end there will also be chance for a Q&A - firstly on any specific questions arising from the session itself, then (if time allows) broadening out to more general questions.

Vicky is a freelance Casting Director for theatre. Recent credits include Romeo & Juliet / Macbeth and I Want My Hat Back (National Theatre), Twelfth Night and Breaking The Code (Manchester Royal Exchange), Low Level Panic and Blue Heart (Orange Tree), Run the Beast Down (Finborough Theatre) and Dedication (Nuffield Theatre). She was previously Casting Associate at the Donmar Warehouse where she worked on all productions including the all-female Shakespeare trilogy (Julius Caesar, Henry IV and The Tempest) directed by Phyllida Lloyd, Welcome Home, Captain Fox!, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, The Vote, Privacy, Closer and My Night With Reg.
