Time: 10.30 - 17.30

A fantastic opportunity to expand your Shakespearean repertoire, loose any fear and dig deeper into the guts of his work. This 3 day workshop, with one of the UK's best Shakespeare directors, will focus on:

"All's Well That Ends Well"…

…and begins well!

Start the New Year by getting down and dirty with one of Shakespeare's darkest comedies: a play which offers up a feast to challenge and surprise the actor.

"Jennie is the friggin dog’s bollocks!" Tom Hiddleston

At once intense and moving, funny and infuriating, All's Well is populated with complex colourful characters: there's super smart Helena, wise old Countess Rossillion, flamboyant fibber Parolles, and posh boy Bertram, for starters.

As with our first popular Extreme Bard course – in which we got to know (and love!) King John, we will tackle the play as whole. Prior to the workshop, all participants will receive a cut version (approx. 90 minutes), which we will work from.

We encourage you to read the play beforehand (obviously!) and choose a character. Do go bold, here is your chance to work against type, gender, age.

Please email your suggestion/s on the part/s you fancy working on to mail@actorsguild.co.uk once you have booked and read the play. You can download the abridged verion of the script you will be working on by clicking on 'my account' then 'workshops I've booked'.

Based on your choices, we will select scenes from the whole play and cast them.     We guarantee that everyone will be given the opportunity to work in depth on at least one character AND hopefully add a new monologue to your repertoire.

In the final session – the afternoon of day 3 – we will be up on our feet reading through the whole play together, and 'staging' the scenes we worked on in the previous sessions.  We will focus on text, character, and above all telling the whole story.

Whether you are new to Shakespeare, scared of Shakespeare, want to flex your muscles, tune up, or just fancy a go; this is the course for you!

Your fears will be tamed and your love of The Bard reignited...
