North America is a massive place with a huge variety of accents. Yet when it comes to casting often only a small range is called for - especially in TV and film...
This workshop will help you decipher what those mysterious requests might mean. 'Californian (middle class)', 'light Seattle', 'mild Canadian', 'New York (but not strong)', 'Southern (educated)', 'mid-atlantic' are just a few examples I've seen on casting breakdowns.
We'll take time to have a listen to a range of accents, look at a range of script extracts and have fun playing with some of those sounds. You'll come away from the workshop FULL of American accent knowledge and confidence for your next audition!
