Date: June 18th
Time: 18.00

VENUE: Craven Street Rehearsal Rooms, 10 Craven Street, WC2N 5PE 3 HOURS: 18.00 - 21.00 This Seminar offers actors the opportunity to work and get feedback from an Artistic Director who not only casts regularly but also runs a successful theatre company. An interactive workshop. Michael will not only offer an insight into his casting process but also the opportunity to do a mock audition and receive honest feedback. Michael will have a copy of your CV and can also offer advice on layout and content specifically tailored to your position and experience. There will be the chance to ask questions throughout. Participants will be required to present a 60-second 'audition' piece. How does it feel to sit the other side of the table at an audition? What does a director look for? How can you make an immediately positive impression? What are the most common mistakes actors make in an audition situation? How can you make sure you stand out from the crowd? Michael Cabot, Artistic Director of acclaimed touring company London Classic Theatre, brings nearly twenty years of experience as a professional director to the table. Since establishing London Classic Theatre in 1993, Michael has auditioned hundreds of actors of all ages, backgrounds and levels of experience. In this three hour workshop, he will offer a unique insight into how auditions and the wider casting process work from the director's perspective. Candid, clear and passionate about theatre, Michael will give honest, constructive advice and feedback, as well as challenging a few preconceptions and shattering a few myths about the way casting works. As he says: 'The most important part of my job is auditioning. If I can get that right, the rest pretty much takes care of itself'. Michael trained on the Director's Course at Drama Studio London. LCT touring productions include; Equus, Ghosts, After Miss Julie, The Caretaker, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Humble Boy, Abigail's Party, Nightfall, The Double Inconstancy, Old Times, Love in the Title, Frozen, Closer, Entertaining Mr Sloane, Molly Sweeney, The Killing of Sister George, Someone Who'll Watch Over Me, Look Back in Anger, The Game of Love and Chance, My Mother Said I Never Should and Oleanna.
