Nanw Rowlands is a Casting Director and formerly Casting Associate for Lucy Bevan.
In this practical workshop, Nanw will give advice on how to nail last-minute auditions for film & TV, followed by a practical session with a mock-casting.
Your Spotlight CV will be sent to Nanw prior to the workshop and scenes will be handed out during the workshop for you to prepare; scenes will not be sent out in advance as this will be a deliberate test of your last-minute sight-reading skills!
Following a brief introduction, Nanw will discuss how auditions can be scheduled extremely last minute and she will give tips on how to ensure that you are 100% ready for each audition and what to expect when you are auditioning in a busy casting office. There will then be an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about anything to do with the casting process.
Scenes will be handed out and mock-castings will be carried out per actor, but you will have the chance to sit in on other sessions if you would like to. Nanw will provide feedback, before offering the opportunity to read again. There will be a further Q&A at the end of the workshop, if there is time.
Nanw has worked in the film and TV industries for the last 10 years on projects from Disney’s CINDERELLA to Universal’s SNOW WHITE & THE HUNTSMAN. Recent casting credits include Warner Bros.’, JUNGLE BOOK; Sacha Baron Cohen’s, GRIMSBY and the forthcoming DreamWorks/Paramount project, GHOST IN THE SHEL. As a Casting Director, she is currently working on two independent feature film projects set to shoot later this year.
