This workshop offers a great opportunity to meet and work with Casting Director Rick Laxton CDG. The focus of this workshop will be casting for TV comedy and the process and skills required to approach comedy scripts.
You will be sent a scene a day or so before the workshop to prepare in advance and will receive honest feedback and guidance on your performance.
Rick Laxton is a freelance Casting Director and CDG member.
His recent credits include Peter Kay's Car Share for BBC and The Evermoor Chronicles for Disney.
He was the Head of Casting at Lime Pictures between 2010 and 2015, responsible for casting their drama and comedy output.
His credits at Lime Pictures include Hollyoaks, Rocket’s Island, The Case, House of Anubis, Living the Dream and Sex and the Chippy.
Prior to working at Lime Pictures, Rick spent seven years working in the Casting Department at ITV in Manchester, working on projects such as The Road to Coronation Street, The Street, It's Adam and Shelley, Vincent and Coronation Street.
