The session will revolve around audition technique specifically for theatre. Participants will have the opportunity to read / select scenes before the workshop. The focus will be on enabling the actor to get the best out of their time in the room. An informal and supportive environment in which actors can make choices and be guided on how to make those choices memorable. The 'audition' is not just about getting the job but about creating a character that is compelling, interesting and honest. If you make honest and good choices you will be remembered for them even if you don't get the role. This is your time with the director and your time to audition for the next audition.
The key is to present yourself, do what you do and then walk away.
The floor will be open to questions afterwards.
Hayley's other theatre credits include: Girls Guide (Hightide), Stuart: A Life Backwards (Watford Palace Theatre/Sheffield Crucible); Neighbors (HighTide/Nuffield Southampton); Mudlarks (Bush Theatre/HighTide); The Tempest Suitcase Shakespeare (RSC); Pitcairn Development (Out of Joint/RSC); The Only True History of Lizzie Finn (Southwark Playhouse); Firewatchers (Old Red Lion); Amphibians (The Bridewell) A Midsummer Night's Dream (Riverside Studios).
