After the success of his first session, we are delighted to welcome back Matthew Xia, Associate Artistic Director at Royal Exchange Theatre.

This interactive seminar will focus on how to prepare for a theatre audition and what a director may be looking for in the audition room.

Matthew will send out material for participants to prepare shortly beforehand. 

Matthew Xia, Associate Artistic Director, Royal Exchange Theatre. A long time associate at the Theatre Royal Stratford East, Matthew’s recent work includes:  Scrappers, Migration Music and Lights Up for the Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse where  he was Resident Director, Into the Woods for the Royal Exchange and the sell-out run of Sizwe Banzi is Dead for the Young Vic for which he won a Genesis Future Director award. 

Matthew is currently rehearsing Joe-Penhall’s multiple award-winning Blue/Orange for the Young Vic. Matthew is also a former BBC DJ and composer.
