Using real scripts from recent castings we will look at the very specific skills required to book a commercial. Discussing the very definite do’s and don’ts about putting yourself in the best position to be “on pencil”, a whole toolkit of tips and advice will be revealed. The session will end with an informal Q&A.   

Over the course of his career, Finlay has appeared in over 30 National & International commercials including UK campaigns for Sainsburys, Doritos and Halifax. When not acting, he runs castings for Commercials Casting Directors such as Belinda Norcliffe, Sophie North, Lesley Beastall and Ali Fearnley.

An experienced actor and writer, Finlay's theatre credits include The Merchant Of Venice (The Almeida), The Night Heron (The Royal Court) and Toast and The Vertical Hour (The Park Theatre). His TV credits include series leads in Body Farm (BBC 1) and Life Begins (ITV), as well as leading guest roles in Scott & Bailey, New Tricks, Taggart, Doc Martin, Persuasion and the iconic Blink episode of Dr Who.
